Research
I direct the Centre
for Interdisciplinary Research in Computational
Algebra which bridges the Schools of Computer
Science and Mathematics and Statistics and supports a
range of research projects in the application of
computer methods in abstract algebra. My grants and
publications will appear on their Web pages shortly. In
the meantime, here's a BiBTeX file
of my publications. Apart from the SCIEnce project
listed below, my current grants are all from the EPSRC
and appear on their
Web pages.
CIRCA is one of four Centres that together lead the
internation consortium developing GAP
(Groups, Algorithms, Programs) a powerful and flexible
system for computation in group theory, algebra and
discrete mathematics.
I coordinate the EU Framework 6 Integrated
Infrastructure Initiative SCIEnce.
Teaching
I teach as required in the School of Computer
Science. Details of all the modules, including whatever
I happen to be teaching this year
are on
their website, and supporting information on
the student
resources server.
